i especially like this one too (like the one below), i wonder if the guy with the cigarette is pete doherty? i like how some of the people don't have faces but even without facial expressions you can still somehow feel their mood from their body-language. and yes, they all have great hair ;)

thanks, Ida. and, of course, you fucking nailed it on Pete Doherty. there are only a very few subjects i can draw without reference [you can obviously tell what they are by looking at the repeated images in my drawings], and yeah, totally, human faces are not one of those things. so while i always i tried to make it look not-as-much like Pete Doherty, i used him in a bunch of these drawings because his postures and facial expressions are consistently incredible. i mean, dude's a famewhore, right?, so he is generally just _amazing_ in front of a camera.

so yeah: that is Pete Doherty x3 here [with the cigarette, having his ear whispered into, and hugging while also holding the cigarette]; also that's him basically in the middle of Self Help Seminar [which, red alert, also includes Brandon Flowers, Tom Meigan, and a hint of Carl BarĂ¢t]; and the 'Beverage Boy' one is based on a Kendall photo of Doherty and cell phone photo of someone i know.

i think only Shoplifting, from this first set, has a basically fabricated subject. i drew a couple more of non-existent people today, but it's incredibly difficult for me...

xox, math+
