Most days, still kind of do.

One of the best live versions I have ever heard of ANY song by ANYONE is Harborcoat by R.E.M. from the 'Bochum 1985' bootleg. It makes me wish I could be Bill Berry as well, or rather play the drums the way he did back in 1985.

Too bad, isn't it, that the most recent R.E.M. album, Around the Sun, was such crap? Given that it was an overt response to 9/11 and the Iraq war, the impression I got was, 'OK, the war has creatively destroyed R.E.M.' I have high hopes for the next R.E.M. album, though. I found New Adventures in Hi-Fi and Up both subpar (the former, dreadfully so - why in hell does everyone call it their 'return to form'? it's SHIT!). But after those records, they made Reveal, their best album since Murmur.

Hi Math.

Nice site - it's always nice to observe male beauty ;)

I used to like Michael Stipe too, not so much anymore, but in this picture he's gorgeous :) And I don't agree about Up - I think it's a great album (haven't heard much from Around The Sun). Over the years I have occasionally seen Stipe hanging around Copenhagen, I guess to visit Helena Christensen but I suppose in New York you'd see more of him. I wouldn't mind having the same local as Morrissey, though, on second thought, it would be pointless because I wouldn't dare got talk to him. Who's the nude guy - third pic from the left, bottom row?

Ida, hey, thanks for posting. Sorry for the delayed reply; I've lately been neglecting this blog (and pretty much everything else) in the extreme. I don't really dislike Up; Hope is one of R.E.M.'s most stunning songs for sure; I just think it's a bit so-so compared to most of their catalog. I especially don't like Walk Unafraid, which unfortunately-for-me seems to be their favorite from the album, as they play it all the time.

I don't know who that is, third picture from left, bottom row. I took the image from a Richard Avedon panoramic picture of members of Andy Warhol's factory, but the subjects aren't identified in the Avedon book I have. Here he is in full, maybe you have a clue?

The subjects of / credits for the photos at the top and bottom of the site - or what I know of the subjects+credits - are at the 'about the site' page. Thanks again for dropping by, cheers!
